Flora began in 2020 with Flowers from Lovers—studio portraits of dried flowers as symbols of healing, sexuality, and rebirth, created from bouquets accumulated from past lovers. Between 2023 and 2025, the work moved outdoors, beginning with Tender (Gnendle). Using a vintage prism from her grandfather’s camera collection, she created soft floral images that captured the nostalgia of summer days, family, and love, while honoring her personal heritage through Yiddish titles throughout the series. This evolved into Roots, a more intimate study set in a greenhouse and homegrown garden. Here, flowers came to represent labor, domestic life, and the transformation that comes with growth and letting go. Through Flora, Drucker visualizes how the natural world mirrors personal preservation, history, growth, and resilience.
